This product was designed to take the labor out of cutting these shields out by hand. These tabs are designed to fit perfectly on the end of most manufactures stamped steel rocker arms. These easily fusion weld or mig weld on to the rocker. The purpose of welding these tabs to the rocker is to shield the oil that squirts out and re-directs it back to the rocker pivot ball area.. in essence flooding this area decreasing the chance of rocker arm failure.
If your rules only allow this style rocker arm.. these are a must have!
